CANARY SLAG
GLASS HANGING BALL SHADE
![]() |
Circa
1900-10 early electric hanging slag glass ball shade.
Wonderful unusual form, with Arts and Crafts stylized
metalwork. The ball opens on a hinge into two
halves, top and bottom, each half with 8 curved and bent
panels of canary yellow striated slag glass. Terrific
color. Original heavy ring and chain, original crossbar,
original socket. Still has the original cloth cord, will
need to be rewired. The all brass metalwork has a
wonderful soft aged patina. The ball is 15" long,
ring to finial; and 11 1/2" across. All metalwork
excellent condition, two top panels have cracks. Cleaned
well, you will never see these cracks when the fixture is
hanging. Fabulous and unique early electric fixture for
almost any application. |
